National Army Museum

We are very excited to be working with the National Army Museum to develop their education offer to special schools. We began our work with a playday in December; Matt, Emily, Alison and Catherine shared extracts from Peoplescape projects and led creative exercises to explore museum objects and potential sessions with the museum education team. The team are great and we had a lot of fun.

Catherine and Alison have since been in to watch one of the museums mainstream education sessions: “Florence and Mary” which the team had identified as having potential as a SEND session. The session went brilliantly and Catherine and Alison discussed aspects that would and wouldn’t work for a SEND group. They are now developing a SEND version of the session which they will trial soon and which will be on the programme for special schools to book in September.

This will be the first session developed specifically for special schools in the museum. The museum are hoping to develop several more new SEND sessions in the future subject to funding.
