She studied Drama and English at Birmingham University and her Drama PGCE at MMU. Whilst working as a drama teacher in Manchester, and running her own youth theatre she established Peoplescape with Emily with whom she has been creating drama’s with ever since.

She has also worked with several leading educational and community theatre companies including GYPT (Greenwich and Lewisham Young Peoples Theatre,) London Bubble Theatre, the Unicorn Theatre and Make Believe Arts.

She has been running Speech Bubbles workshops for London Bubble theatre  for over 10 years in special schools and mainstream schools. She will be starting her 10th year at Brent Knoll special school in September.

This term due to covid 19 work is a little different. She is currently making video for children in special schools and working out how to honour 14 devised, rehearsed and, as yet unperformed, year 4 performances for the Thames project.

She loves working in role and improvising – especially with and for children, and devising new stories. In her free time she can often be found at the Laban Centre for contemporary dance either attending a class herself or taking her own children to classes there.
