Alison Hale

Alison is one of the Creative Directors of Peoplescape Theatre and has 20 years experience of drama and theatre in education.

She studied Drama and English at Birmingham University and her Drama PGCE at MMU. Whilst working as a drama teacher in Manchester, she established Peoplescape with Emily Capstick and ran her own youth theatre. She left Manchester to work for GYPT (Greenwich and Lewisham Young People’s Theatre) where she ran the youth arts programme and acted in Theatre-in-Education programmes.

Since leaving GYPT, Alison has worked as a freelance drama practitioner: as an actor-teacher on tour, a workshop facilitator  and also leading professional development with teachers and museum education teams. She has worked with several leading educational and community theatre companies including  London Bubble Theatre, the Unicorn Theatre and Make Believe Arts. Her work has covered all ages – from early years to inter-generational reminiscence projects. As well as working with schools and museums, Alison has also delivered projects with community groups. For the past six years she has also been developing drama projects for young people with special educational needs.

With Peoplescape Theatre, Alison has created theatre projects in museums in London and Greater Manchester.
